Jennifer was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis while in high school and was in a wheelchair for over two years. Jennifer's father knew of an organization in California that provided service dogs to disabled individuals and decided to found a similar group in Georgia to help his daughter and others like her. Tragically, he was killed by a drunk driver in 1980. Jennifer and her mother struggled ten years until they finally realized their dream of training and providing service dogs to others. Fri, 12 May 2006 Author Kendall Bell is an award-winning journalist who is currently the city editor of a daily newspaper in Sumter, South Carolina. Ken published his first book, From the Heart: Stories of Love and Friendship in 2003 in response to 9/11. He felt that after such a great tragedy, people needed to hear stories of hope. He e-mailed several friends asking for their personal stories of love and friendship. This e-mail was passed around the globe and Ken received over 2,000 stories.
